What can you do when your muscles are so sore from exercising, standing all day, an all day walking field trip, a weekend of gardening? You can take aspirin, put on creams, ice it, heat it, both OR you can use a Tens Unit.
A Tens unit is an electric pulsing unit that connects to the body by electrodes. Like what they do in an EKG, if you have been so lucky to have had to experience that. The electric wires are attached to stickypads that attach and hold onto your body. The electrodes lead the electrical impulses to
your sore muscles and like a masseuse' hands to your sore muscles. The unit controls the electrical impulses, fast, slow light, hard, timing. You set the controls to the levels that will help your sore muscles the most. It takes some experimenting, but eventually, you do find that level which works.
It feels like little buzzes of electricity. It does not hurt. Your muscles probably hurt more than the buzzing feeling.
The impulses cause blood to rush to the area and repair the little tears or rips that you made during exerting yourself through standing or exercise or however you did it.
I have arthritus and I find that a tens unit can help at times. If you have arthritus you know what that means. It means sometimes cold helps. Sometimes heat helps. Wet or damp usually does not help, unless it is hot. Sometimes this or sometimes that. Well tens unit is another option. Sometimes I think I get exhausted trying all the different kinds of relief and finally fall asleep!

When I first met tens, it was one of the first things I bought on Amazon. It was about 10" x 10". This one is 1" x 3" Hospitals and rehabilitation centers used to be the only place where you could use a tens under the supervision of a technician. It is still advised that you get your doctor's permission before using a tens unit.
