Green Bird

 GREEN BIRD BY Mark Ansel

GREEN BIRD

Green Bird is a children's story written and illustrated by Mark Ansel.  He tells of a little round green bird who is looking for his family, or at least another bird like him. He goes into the forest and sees green shapes. One green shape he asks, "Are you a bird? He asks a leaf, a guava, a firefly etc. Then he sees a bird at nightfall. In morning all that is left is a green feather and the hope that he will find another just like him.
It is actually a very clever and unique way to present shapes and the concept of camouflage!   The illustrator has drawn the shapes so that the reader cannot tell what the shapes are. They get a reader to participate by guessing what the shapes could possibly  be. The book comes with an extra kit of  cut outs that  allows the reader to play with the shapes and covers of the pieces.  #greenbird

It also teaches the value of having hope and keeping hope in the things for which we are searching.  Green Bird can http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Green+Bird
