HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MARBLES? I SUPPOSE IT IS A GOOD QUESTION TO ASK A TEACHER IN JUNE!!!!!
PLAYING MARBLES |
Blue Sky on Amazon is having 50% off sale of their pack of 62 Marbles with the coupon code below. Just put in the code at checkout It is a velveteen bag filled with 60 small cat's eye marbles and 2 cat's eye shooters, or large marbles. What would you do with all those marbles?
Play marbles of course! Let's bring back a time-tried tradition. No controllers or mice needed. (draw a circle in the dirt, put in all the marbles and flicking your finger shoot the large marbles, the shooters, into the little marbles. Those marbles that propel out of the circle are the shooter's to keep. The shooters take turns knocking marbles out of the circle. The one with the most marbles, wins! You can play others and then you start to collect different kinds of marble. Some marbles are more valuable than others; or more pretty than others.
Use marbles to "paint" a picture. Put a piece of paper in a pie pan. Pour paint in a pie pan (the size of a one inch in diameter). Add a marble and roll it around until it is covered with paint. Carefully remove the marble that is full of paint. Drop it in the pan with the paper and move the pan so the marble rolls to and fro. A modern art picture forms.
Cracked Marble Jewelry - Take the marbles and put them on a cookie sheet and put in a 500 degree oven for 20 minutes. While they heat, prepare a bowl of ice water. After 20 minutes remove the marbles from the oven and immediately and carefully drop the hot marbles into the ice water. The marbles will crack and get a crystal affect. (Science reason: The marbles are hotter in the inside than on the outside and the differences in temperature cause the marbles to crack.
